Steve West is passionate about transforming the talent acquisition landscape and empowering others to reach their potential and own their careers. Steve leads Verizon’s Global Talent Acquisition team, which is responsible for shaping a dynamic candidate experience and building a diverse pipeline of talent. In addition to core and strategic hiring across the enterprise, his team is also responsible for Verizon’s employer brand, contingent workforce staffing, and proactively addressing talent needs within the organization. 

Steve’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is seen through his team’s efforts in driving a diverse emerging talent pipeline strategy, including early-in-career and apprenticeship programs. In 2021, Steve played a fundamental role in launching the Verizon Thrive Apprenticeship Program, which offers vocational training and opportunities for individuals to thrive, while removing barriers to career paths in technology for underrepresented communities.

Driven by creating meaningful change and positive impact across the organization, Steve is proud to lead the team that delivers top talent to Verizon. 

Steve resides in Toms River, New Jersey, with his wife Heather, daughter Addyson, son Jaxon and dog Rocky. Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University in New York City, where he was also an NCAA wrestler.
