Britt Provost

Chief Human Resources Officer
Siteimprove

As Chief Human Resource Officer at Siteimprove, Britt Provost is focused on building an engaged team that drives the mission of accessibility forward internally and externally. Additionally, her work ethic is motivated by the motto: thriving, growing and belonging. It’s important for her to create a culture where team members are proud to be part of the organization and feel appreciated for the work that they produce.

Before joining Siteimprove, Britt had the opportunity to take two companies public. Her first IPO occurred with Apptio in 2016 and with Accolade in 2020. In both instances, she served as the Executive Vice President of People and Culture. During her second operation, helping a company go public, she managed the team virtually during the pandemic. She played a key role in shaping the employee experience across Accolade to ensure they

attracted, developed, retained and engaged their talent.

Prior to Accolade and Apptio, Britt worked at Avanade as Vice President, Global Service Lines/Corporate Functions, where she lived in Singapore and London. She was responsible for the Asia Pacific business. Working for the people-centric company, she had the opportunity to run employee engagement surveys, which provided data used to create positive employee experiences.

In addition to holding other senior People leadership roles at top-tier companies such as Prometheus, RealNetworks and Microsoft, Britt has been appointed to the board of directors for a couple of local organizations in the Seattle area. Most notably, she held a seat on the University of Washington Bothell School of Business board. Her diversity, equity, and inclusion background helps non-profits advance in the space and stay abreast of the latest practices and procedures.

Britt earned an MBA from the University of Colorado and a bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Washington.

The First 90 Days: Practical Guidance for HR Leaders Joining a New Organization

There are so many different types of organizations to consider, especially when building or considering rebuilding an HR team. Should you keep building on top of existing practices, or maybe it’s time to break the mold?

The level of intensity during the first 90 days when setting foot into a new role of a People Leader is guaranteed, as you need to navigate and lead all parts of an HR function from day one. In her session, Britt will share her experiences and learnings when joining a new company as a newly appointed Senior HR leader (tapping into her most recent experience at Siteimprove).

Britt will also focus on recommendations for activating key functional areas while delivering early success in the areas of recruiting talent, business partnership, manager enablement, and providing advice on building relationships and trust with the leadership team, People Leaders, and the Board of directors.

Takeaways:

Britt hopes to share practical knowledge and how-tos with HR leaders starting their first quarter in the new org. Highlighted key takeaways include:

  • How to develop and communicate your focus areas and deliverables for the first 90 days and beyond with your Executive Leadership Team.
  • How to build relationships and internal trust with key stakeholders from ground up.
  • How to engage and empower key communities such as People Leaders early in your tenure.
